Two of my favorite alternatives to cutting when getting out of the apartment isn’t an option…
Exfoliate in the shower. I prefer using an aromatherapy stress relief scent exfoliant which you can find at bath and body works. It comes in a fairly large container and the aromatherapy is just a little added extra. The exfoliant itself just gives you a bit more of a physical sensation if that’s what you need.
Tiger Balm. I buy ‘ultra’ simply because I have a lot of injuries and need it for those all the time anyway… but any tiger balm would work. Just put some on your back or something and lay down and relax. Again, a nice physical sensation to replace self injury. Tiger balm also has a bit of a mentholy scent to it which I find very soothing. You can buy tiger balm at pretty much any drug store or grocery store in the first aid aisle.
